Hand-Making Candy Canes at Fralinger’s

In December, 1988, I made a video of Candy Canes being made by hand at Fralinger’s Factory on 600 North Indiana Ave in Atlantic City, NJ. It was one of the last times these were made.

Overseen by Plant Manager, Jimmy Graham and working with David Gager, Greg Green, David Clagette, and Theresa Sarno, this video shows you step by step how they handmade Candy Canes. I doubt any of us will try this at home, but is is fun to watch.
I wish you could smell the intense Peppermint.

The most special was a 4 foot, 5 pound candy cane made as a door decoration. After Christmas, we would take it down and smash it with a hammer and eat the shattered pieces. Those were the days.

ENJOY and Merry Christmas!
