In July, 1896 Hannah was a passenger in a train wreck near Atlantic City when returning from Philadelphia. Florence’s brother, Joseph Fralinger, of Atlantic City Salt Water Taffy fame, heard of the wreck and went looking for Hannah on foot. Apparently, she was so badly injured, she was taken to the recovery station where she lay among the dead. Joseph search the area for her and finally heard her faint call for help, “Joe, Joe”.
